It's Back! KFC Double Down Nutrition Facts
For a limited time KFC will be bringing back one of the most ridiculous things they’ve ever put on their menu: the KFC Double Down. This monstrosity is a “sandwich” but it has no bread. Instead, what you have is bacon, two slices of cheese and a creamy sauce sandwiched between two pieces of fried chicken. That’s right, instead of bread, this sandwich uses fried chicken like a bun.
According to the KFC website, the Double Down will only be on the menu for a limited time, so you should “ eat it all day every day” (seriously, their website says this) . But what about the nutritional value of this sandwich? Is it healthy enough to eat all day every day?
Of course not! For starters, the Double Down has nearly 90% of your daily recommended sodium and over 100% of your daily recommended protein intake.
When you look at the fat content,, the picture doesn’t any rosier. The Double Down contains a staggering 37 grams of fat, 11 of which are saturated fat. All of that fat also yields a massive 330 calories from fat.
If you take KFC’s advice and eat the Double Down “all day every day”, you had better be a slow eater… so slow that over the course of the day you only eat half of one of these sandwiches.
